DEVELOPMENT IN ABBOTSFORD
Abbotsford continues its steady growth and shows no signs of slowing. With the reelection of Mayor Henry Braun which reaffirmed the city’s approval of his approach to development, the downtown core is turning into everything the city imagined, all the while attracting developer interest from as far as Vancouver. As the city’s core continues to be reinvigorated, several other areas are beginning to gain traction. Most notably, the UDistrict Plan received final approval which cements its placement as the city’s next hotspot for development. Another area of interest in the near term is East Abbotsford, primarily the Mckee Peaks area–which, though lagging behind other high priority neighbourhoods, seems to be advancing.
